Jul. 18th, 2020 04:33 amTo many of her classmates, Elly Denton was the same as just about anyone else. Sure her mom Aphrodia'd had her a bit on the younger side, and her father was nowhere to be seen, but it wasn't like there was anything in her life that got in the way of the usual routine of school, studying, and having fun with friends.
Granted, most didn't know that Elly herself was a protector of humanity as Splendor Rose, fighting by night and sometimes even day against the forces of darkness. They came in all manner of forms, but Rose and her allies had never failed to turn evil when it came down to it, and in the process earn the esteem and praise of the world over.
Of course, if Aphrodia had known that her own daughter was one of those brave girls out there, she probably would've had a heart attack and then some. Nevermind she'd been saved at least once or twice personally by Splendor Rose herself, But there was bliss to be had in that ignorance, Aphrodia being able to go about her days in peace, be it shopping for groceries or visiting the library to pick out a new book or two to read. It was, admittedly, a bit lonely for her; Elly was growing up and spending more time with her friends now (quite a few of them being Splendor Rose's comrades) and Aphrodia understood it wasn't right of her to interfere with that... but there was only so many ways she could think of to ease the feelings in her chest ever time she went to bed in an empty nest.
